I Love You Like That

This is my first blog post on behalf of The Lone Daisy. It would be an understatement to say I am nervous to be writing something in hopes that regular readers might find it as motivational and uplifting as Victoria’s previous posts.

It may sound cliche, but I kind of want to talk a little bit about love. The title of this post was inspired by a song I have found myself listening to almost every day for about a week now.

Love You Like That by Dagny

The first line of the song is “You hate that I usually don’t open up.”

Communication

It does not matter what relationship you are in, whether it be a friendship, family, professional, or romantic relationship, communication is crucial. Communication is underappreciated. Communication is overlooked. You can’t build trust, pursue your passion, understand yourself, understand other people, or show how much you care without communicating.

“You know how they say you got the real thing when nothing else matters? I love you like that.”

Love

There is not one type of love. There are many types of love, and some that cannot be explained. The only one who needs to understand the type of love you feel is you. You need to be able to express that love to the person you feel it for. You need to express the love you feel for something you are passionate about, for the things you can’t live without. Only you can stand in the way of your own expression.

When V and I write music, we are expressing our love. Love is happiness. Love is pain. Love is vulnerability. Love is addictive. It tears us apart, and it mends us back together. Love can change the way you see yourself. The way you see the world.  Though you may feel sometimes that you have given some of your love away without purpose, it cannot be wasted. Don’t ever feel like you have wasted something that has made you grow and made you feel something unlike anything you have ever felt before.

See you again,

T
